Launceston Town Hall Carpet & Flooring Installation

May 1, 2013

This was one of our best installations not for any particular reason but how the whole contract was managed & seen through. i spite of manufacturer, other contractor & industry grinding to a holt due to snow the was delvered on time, all installed to a very high standard & within budget.

We were asked by Kivvels commercial (who were overseeing the project) to calaborate with Penny Mcmillan design consultant to bring out he best in the building whilst using the best products budgets would allow. Following an initial brief with Penny we called on industry partners to come up with some design options. Having viewed the options and consulted with the town council the offering of a carpet that carried the Cornish county colours of Black & Yellow were used throughout with three different designs and a hint of Blue was added to the tartan carpet in the main Bar to match the Blue in the town halls clock face. THe carpets were made in Devon at Axminster carpets plant and we were assured that the wool would come from locally sourced fleeces.

Karndean, Vinyl, Supa cord and safety flooring was also used extensively in the kitchen, toilets, hallways & other service areas. The installation was carried out by locally trained installers during schedules that fitted in with the other trades that were present & involved a lot of unsociable hours to meet the deadline.

I had the opportunity to inspect the flooring recectly (during a Night out) and after four years it is all still looking fabulous.
